Weekly reflections from our Founder, Michaela Anderson
I was speaking to a wellness founder about the impact he has made in the community over the years, and for the first time in a long time, he had to pause and take a moment to really reflect on his achievements. He showed gratitude for the forced pause, and it reminded me how often, as leaders, we don’t take a moment to zoom out from the daily grind of building or running a business… we just keep going.
Beautypreneurs launched in October 2024, and at the time, I was in the midst of pivoting from being a beautician to running programmes for young people interested in beauty as a career. Since then, Beautypreneurs has hosted two events focused on leadership, plus a lunch and learn highlighting awareness around safeguarding.
For those following my journey, I have spoken about having a vision but not being super clear on the impact I wanted Beautypreneurs to make. 🤔 I just know leaders in the beauty, barbering, and wellness space are on the frontline and are impacting our communities daily. So, the question became: how can they receive more support?
For most of 2025, I have been silent, using the silence to untangle the concept. Now, I am clear about the vision, the impact, and the community. I am building something slightly disruptive, a little bit challenging, and uniting transformational industries: beauty, barbering, and wellness, under one mission.
😅 As for the mission statement… that is something I am still fine-tuning.
