Meet Chris “Yampower” Otokito
Chris “Yampower” Otokito is a proud father, social entrepreneur, coach, and founder of Holistic Wellbeing Hub CIC, a community organisation dedicated to men’s mental health, youth development, and strengthening family bonds.
Through initiatives such as Grapple Warriors (father-and-son Jiu-Jitsu), Talk 2 a Brother (safe, culturally-aware spaces and activities for men’s mental health), and Triple M Camps (martial arts, motivation, and mindset retreats for boys and young people), Chris creates transformative and culturally rooted programmes that build confidence, resilience, emotional intelligence, and genuine community connection.
Chris’s work in wellbeing, fatherhood, and community leadership has led to features in Men’s Health, Women’s Health, GQ, Hogan Lovells, and appearances across major media platforms including BBC, ITV London, Channel 4 News, Channel 5 News, Good Morning Britain, NBC, CNN World, The Guardian, Metro UK, The Washington Post, The Independent, Angie Greaves, and Dentsu Aegis.
He has also been featured in the Raindance Film Festival–winning Netflix mini documentary "Beyond the Divide" and the Multicultural Mental Health Film Festival–Best International Documentary Short Film "Fathers and Sons".
His commitment to grass root service earned him nominations for the Pride of Croydon Award and the Royal Air Force’s BLAC (Bright Light Awards Ceremony) Award. Chris was also personally thanked, recognised, and awarded by the Mayor of London and Mayor of Croydon for his human rights guardianship during the BLM protests, and compassionate volunteer work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
As an athlete, Chris has had over 35 competitive wins since 2020, and recently debuted on Polaris Pro, one of the world’s leading professional jiu-jitsu stages.
Combining his backgrounds in finance, design, fashion, combat sports, youth mentoring, and holistic coaching, Chris champions social impact by working closely with schools, local authorities, and grassroots organisations—making wellbeing accessible, relatable, and empowering for the communities that need it most.
